Job DescriptionWe're seeking a talented individual to join our VAT Tax Team in London, which is responsible for providing VAT compliance and advisory services for a wide range of business clients.The primary responsibility will be to deal with all matters relating to the management of a portfolio of clients and managing more junior members of staff as necessary. You will also provide assistance to Directors/Partners in both client work and in the management of the group. You will actively be involved in and identify special assignments and advisory projects where appropriate.Key ResponsibilitiesClient work • Act as trusted adviser and begin to engage with clients to identify VAT issues • Manage portfolio of advisory and compliance cases • Give exceptional client service, taking the lead in managing and developing certain client relationships • Technically strong • Identifying opportunities on client portfolioStaff Management and development • Liaison with Partners and Directors • Appraisals/monitor staff performance, acting as formal ADR managers for some staff • On the job training for junior staff on a one-to-one basis • Dealing with staff questions • Work collaboratively with peers in team and across firm to ensure joined up approachPractice Development • Involved in business development activities/profile raising locally • Begin to develop relationships to drive new business opportunities and cross referral of services • Able to take advantage of marketing/PR opportunities • Compliance • Ensuring procedures are followed taking account of institute and HMRC guidance, where relevantPersonal Development (Technical & Other) • Internal and external seminars and courses • Reading • Internal meetings
