Learning Support Assistant – ASD Support Location: E17 Salary: £95.83 per day Start Date: ASAP (Subject to DBS and clearance) Assignment Details Full-time role, Monday to Friday (Term Time Only)Working hours: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM Long-term role for full academic year Applicants must have the right to work in the UKAbout the RoleConnex Education is working on behalf of a large and inclusive mainstream primary school in Waltham Forest to recruit a Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to support pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in the classroom. This full-time role is to begin in September 2025 and is ideal for someone with experience supporting children with additional needs in a mainstream setting. The school promotes a nurturing and aspirational learning environment where all pupils are encouraged to reach their full potential. As an LSA, you will play a key role in providing 1:1 and small group support to children with ASD, helping them to access the curriculum, regulate emotions, and develop key social and communication skills.Key Responsibilities Provide 1:1 and in-class support for pupils with Autism Spectrum DisorderHelp pupils access learning tasks by using visual supports, routines, and tailored strategiesEncourage social interaction and support emotional regulationWork closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement EHCP targetsMonitor progress and contribute to daily observations and reportsPromote inclusion and help pupils engage confidently in all aspects of school life Person Specification Experience supporting pupils with ASD in a school or similar setting (essential)A calm, patient, and consistent approach to behaviour and learning supportAbility to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and familiesA current DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for one through Connex Why Join Connex Education?
