Deputy Childrens Home Manager West Midlands Location: West Midlands Contract: Full-time Shifts: Flexible (including some evenings, weekends, and on-call duties) Are you an experienced Residential Support Worker or Team Leader ready to take the next step into management? We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Deputy Children's Home Manager to join our Ofsted-regulated home in the West Midlands. Responsibilities Support the Registered Manager in the day-to-day running of the home, ensuring full compliance with Ofsted regulations and the Children's Homes (England) Regulations 2015 Lead, motivate, and develop the staff team to deliver safe, nurturing, and therapeutic care Act as a role model, promoting positive outcomes and independence for children and young people with EBD, trauma, and complex needs Oversee care planning, risk assessments, and incident reporting, ensuring high-quality record-keeping and adherence to safeguarding standards Participate in recruitment, induction, supervision, and staff appraisals Deputise for the Registered Manager in their absence, ensuring smooth running of the home Support with inspections, audits, and quality assurance processes Maintain excellent relationships with local authorities, social workers, and other stakeholders Requirements Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare (or equivalent) essential Working towards or willing to complete Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management within 18 months essential Minimum 2 years experience working in a residential children's home (EBD/LD/MH) essential Previous experience in a Senior / Team Leader / Shift Leader role essential Strong knowledge of Ofsted requirements, Quality Standards, and safeguarding procedures Excellent leadership, communication, and decision-making skills Ability to manage rotas, staffing levels, and care plans effectively Full UK driving licence highly desirable How to Apply If you are passionate about improving the lives of children and young people and have the experience and drive to succeed in this role, we would love to hear from you.
