We're looking for an R&D Tax Consultant to join a lean, high-performing team supporting software and technology businesses to secure government-backed funding. The Role:
Reporting into the R&D Tax Manager, you'll play a key role in managing client projects from start to finish. You'll evaluate technical work for R&D eligibility, collaborate with clients and colleagues, and provide expert guidance to ensure accurate, compliant claims.
R&D Tax Specialist Responsibilities:
Manage client engagements for software and technology businesses
Analyse technical projects to identify claimable R&D activities
Translate complex technical work into clear, accessible language
Work closely with the team to improve processes and share knowledge
Ensure compliance with the UK R&D Tax Incentive Scheme
Support with technical reviews, claims preparation, and client reporting

R&D Tax Specialist Requirements:
Degree or equivalent in a software-related subject (Computer Science, Software Engineering, DevOps, AI/ML, Full Stack Development)
Experience in R&D tax consultancy
Strong technical proficiency in modern programming languages or demonstrable software engineering background
Excellent communication skills - able to explain technical topics to non-technical audiences
Collaborative, client-focused mindset, comfortable working independently too
