Hexagon Recruitment are recruiting on behalf of our client, a respected and fast-growing Transport & Logistics company based in Thurrock for a motivated Accounts Assistant with strong Xero software experience.This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing, business. You’ll play a key role in keeping the numbers running smoothly behind a successful logistics operation. The RoleAs an Accounts Assistant, you’ll be responsible for:Managing purchase and sales ledgers in XeroProcessing invoices, payments, and receipts accurately and efficientlyCompleting bank reconciliations and ensuring financial data is up to dateAssisting with credit control and supplier queriesPreparing weekly and monthly financial reportsSupporting month-end tasks, including accruals and journalsAssisting with VAT returns, payroll prep, and expensesWorking closely with the Transport and Operations teams to support smooth financial processesRequirements· Experience as an Accounts Assistant, Finance Administrator, or similar· Confident user of Xero accounting software (essential)· AAT Level 3 qualified or above · Excellent attention to detail and organisation skills· Solid understanding of purchase/sales ledger and reconciliations· Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills· Clear communicator — professional and confident with colleagues and suppliers Desirable (but not essential)Previous experience in the Transport or Logistics industryKnowledge of invoice factoring, subcontractor payments, or fuel card reconciliationBenefitsWhat’s in it for youCompetitive salary: £28,000 – £35,000 Full-time, stable position in a growing transport businessSupportive team environment with opportunities for progression Interested?
