The company prides itself on delivering right-first-time solutions and consistently exceeding customer expectations.Due to the recent departure of the previous Quality Manager, they are now seeking a talented individual to lead the Quality function and help shape the company’s continued success.About the OpportunityThis leadership role involves full accountability for the Quality function, including managing day-to-day quality activities at the site. As part of the Production leadership team, you will play a key role in the strategic direction of the business and have the opportunity to develop and refine the Quality Management System to meet both current and future needs.This position is not hands-on inspection work — instead, it focuses on leadership, compliance, and continuous improvement across all quality operations.Main Responsibilities⦁ Act as the site focal point for Quality, both internally and externally (customers and regulatory bodies).⦁ Manage and mentor the inspection team (3 Inspectors) to ensure consistent, high-quality output.⦁ Ensure all Non-Conformance activities are completed, including effective root cause analysis and corrective actions.⦁ Own and manage the First Article Inspection Report (FAIR) process, ensuring on-time completion.⦁ Maintain and develop the company’s Integrated Management System (IMS) to AS9100 standards.⦁ Develop, update, and deploy procedures and processes (e.g., Calibration, NCRs, CAPAs).⦁ Ensure all quality documentation is accurate, relevant, and up to date.⦁ Liaise with the Divisional Quality team and external auditors for guidance, support, and compliance reviews.⦁ Lead quality improvement initiatives and support companywide continuous improvement efforts.⦁ Contribute to business-wide strategic decisions as part of the leadership team.Essential Skills & Experience⦁ Proven track record as a Quality Engineer or Quality Manager within a precision engineering or aerospace environment.⦁ Strong understanding of AS9100 and FAIR processes.⦁ Skilled in root cause analysis and problem-solving techniques.⦁ Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.⦁ Ability to read and interpret 2D and 3D engineering drawings.⦁ Proficient in Quality tools and systems used in a manufacturing environment.Desirable Skills⦁ Experience in machining and/or CMM processes.⦁ Demonstrated leadership and team management capability.⦁ Project management experience.⦁ Familiarity with risk analysis, and risk & opportunity management.Personal Attributes⦁ Engaging and inspiring leader.⦁ Confident, credible, and customer-focused.⦁ Positive and proactive approach.⦁ Strong communicator with the ability to influence at all levels.⦁ Detail-oriented with a mindset for simplification and clarity.Team & Environment⦁ The Quality department comprises three Inspectors based in a temperature-controlled inspection area adjacent to the shop floor.⦁ The Quality Manager is based in the engineering office, working closely with Production, Engineering, and the Directors.Benefits Package⦁ 25 days’ holiday plus bank holidays⦁ Discretionary 6-month bonus scheme (subject to business performance)⦁ Pension scheme: 5% employee contribution / 3% employer contribution⦁ Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) and counselling sessions⦁ Perkbox memberships⦁ Cycle to Work scheme⦁ Costco membership⦁ Flexible, supportive working environment with opportunities for professional development
