You will work directly with students aged 11-19 who have a range of special educational needs, helping them access the curriculum and develop essential life skills.Key Responsibilities: Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with diverse SEN requirementsAssist teachers in delivering engaging and differentiated lessonsSupport students with personal care needs where appropriateHelp develop and implement individual education plans (IEPs)Encourage student independence and social skills developmentAssist with behaviour management using positive reinforcement strategiesSupport students during breaks, lunchtimes, and school activitiesMaintain accurate records of student progress and incidentsWork collaboratively with teachers, parents, and external professionals Essential Requirements Full driving licence (essential due to school location)Previous experience working with children or young people with SENUnderstanding of different types of learning difficulties and disabilitiesExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsPatience, empathy, and resilienceAbility to work as part of a team and independentlyFlexibility and adaptability to meet diverse student needsCommitment to safeguarding and promoting student welfare Desirable Qualifications Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualificationTraining in specific SEN areas (Autism, ADHD, etc.)First Aid certificationExperience in a secondary school environmentKnowledge of Makaton or other communication systems What We Offer Comprehensive induction and ongoing professional developmentOpportunity to work as part of a supportive, multidisciplinary teamAccess to specialist training and career progression opportunitiesPension schemeThe chance to make a meaningful impact on a young person's life To apply, you must show proof of right to work in the UK.All offers are conditional upon satisfactory background checks, including a DBS check.
