Job Title: 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant (TA) Location: West Worthing Pay Rate: £85 – £95 per day (depending on experience) Start Date: Immediate Contract Type: Day-to-day / Long-term | Full-time / Part-timeAre you a compassionate and patient individual with a passion for supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN)?GSL Education are seeking a 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive school in West Worthing. This rewarding role offers the chance to make a genuine difference by providing tailored support to a pupil who requires additional assistance in their learning and development.As a 1:1 SEN TA, you will provide dedicated support to a pupil with Special Educational Needs, helping them access learning and reach their full potential.As a 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant, you will: Provide dedicated one-to-one support to a pupil with specific learning or behavioural needs.Assist in implementing individual education and behaviour plans under the guidance of the class teacher and SENCO.Encourage engagement, confidence, and independence through personalised support.Foster a calm, structured, and nurturing environment that promotes emotional and academic progress.Communicate effectively with teachers, parents, and external professionals to ensure consistent and holistic support.Help manage classroom activities and maintain positive behaviour. Requirements for 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant: Previous experience supporting pupils with SEN, particularly in a one-to-one capacity (preferred).A caring, patient, and resilient nature with a proactive approach to challenges.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to build positive, trusting relationships with pupils.An enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).A full CV covering the last 10 years, with explanations for any gaps.
