SEN Teacher – Newcastle

About the Role
We’re looking for a caring and adaptable SEN Teacher to join a dedicated specialist school in Newcastle. The role involves teaching pupils aged 7–19 with a range of special educational needs, including autism, ADHD, and speech and language difficulties.You’ll design and deliver creative, multi-sensory lessons that celebrate every small step of progress — helping pupils grow in confidence, independence, and curiosity.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and deliver engaging lessons tailored to individual learning styles and needs
Support emotional and social development through positive behaviour strategies
Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to deliver individual education plans (IEPs)
Monitor and assess progress, maintaining regular contact with parents and carers
Contribute to a caring, inclusive, and inspiring school environment
Person Specification
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS / QTLS) or equivalent
Passionate about SEND teaching, ideally with experience in autism education
Excellent communication, organisation, and teamwork skills
Positive, flexible approach and genuine commitment to pupil wellbeing
Up-to-date knowledge of safeguarding and SEND legislation

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
