Food Technician - Lewisham Full-Time | Long-Term | Immediate Start | Competitive Pay (via PAYE) Tradewind Recruitment is seeking a reliable and enthusiastic Food Technician to join a supportive and well-resourced secondary school in Lewisham. This is a full-time, long-term role, starting immediately, offering the chance to work within a thriving Design & Technology department focused on Food Technology. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced school technician or a recent graduate with a background in Food Science, Nutrition, or Culinary Arts who is keen to gain valuable experience in education. While previous technician experience is preferred, it is not essential - enthusiasm, attention to detail, and a proactive attitude are key. Key Responsibilities: Preparing ingredients, tools, and equipment for practical lessons Supporting teachers during food technology sessions Maintaining high standards of hygiene, health, and safety in all food rooms Monitoring stock levels, managing orders, and maintaining accurate records Helping students develop confidence and practical cooking skills Requirements: A relevant qualification or degree in a food-related subject (e.g. Food Science, Nutrition, Culinary Arts) A methodical and safety-conscious approach Excellent organisational and communication skills An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply) Availability to work full-time in a school setting Why work with Tradewind Recruitment?
