SEND Learning Support Assistant – Bank Staff (Flexible Working)Location: Walthamstow, E17, London Salary: £95.83 per day Start Date: ASAP (Subject to DBS and clearance)Assignment Details Flexible, bank staff role – work on days that suit youCovering short-term bookings, day-to-day absences, and sickness coverOpportunities to work across EYFS, KS1, and KS2Supporting children with SEND (ASD and complex needs) within a mainstream primary school Applicants must have the right to work in the UKAbout the RoleConnex Education is recruiting SEND Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) to join the bank staff team at a large, inclusive mainstream primary school in Waltham Forest.This role offers flexible working to fit around your availability, with opportunities to support pupils across all year groups, from Early Years through to KS2. You will be working with children who have Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and complex needs, providing support either 1:1 or in small groups within the classroom.You may also be required to assist with personal care, including toileting and feeding, and will need to confidently support children with challenging behaviour using de-escalation techniques.Key Responsibilities Provide in-class support for children with SEND across EYFS, KS1, and KS2Deliver tailored support through visuals, structured routines, and individualised strategiesEncourage communication, interaction, and emotional regulationUse de-escalation techniques to safely manage challenging behaviourSupport pupils with toileting, feeding, and personal care needs where requiredWork alongside teachers and support staff to promote inclusion and help pupils access learning Person Specification Experience supporting children with SEND (ASD and complex needs) in schools, care, or similar settingsConfidence in managing challenging behaviour and applying de-escalation strategiesFlexibility to work across year groups and adapt to different classrooms and routinesA calm, patient, and resilient approach to supporting childrenWillingness to assist with personal careA current DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for one through Connex Why Join Connex Education?
