Senior Family Support Worker – Birmingham Children’s Trust Location: Birmingham Contract: Full-time, Permanent Grade: GR4 Contact: john.deane@servicecare.org.uk About the Role Birmingham Children’s Trust is looking for a Senior Family Support Worker to join their dedicated team, helping to make Birmingham “the greatest city to grow up in.” In this rewarding role, you’ll use your professional knowledge and skills to deliver evidence-based interventions and coordinate early help support plans for children, young people, and their families. You’ll work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team, promoting positive change and improving outcomes across the city. Key ResponsibilitiesAct as Lead Professional for an allocated caseload of children and families, coordinating multi-agency support plans.Deliver evidence-based interventions that promote positive change and safeguard children and young people.Complete comprehensive assessments to identify needs, inform interventions, and achieve meaningful outcomes.Chair meetings, manage a complex workload, and maintain high-quality case recording using the Trust’s database systems.Champion a specialist practice area such as domestic abuse, substance misuse, disability, or parenting—delivering training and sharing best practice with colleagues.Work within the Right Help, Right Time framework, ensuring safeguarding and escalation procedures are followed.Provide leadership and oversight for Family Support Workers (GR3) delivering single-agency support.Participate in supervision, training, and service development to continually improve practice and performance.About You To be successful in this role, you will have:NVQ Level 4 qualification (or equivalent) in a relevant field.Experience delivering evidence-based interventions with children, young people, and their families.Strong skills in assessment, planning, and coordination of support services.Proven ability to work collaboratively with statutory and non-statutory partners.Excellent organisational and analytical skills with the ability to manage a varied caseload.A commitment to safeguarding, equality, and inclusion.Willingness to undertake additional training and development as required.Our Values At Birmingham Children’s Trust, everything we do is shaped by our five core values:One Team – We work together to make a difference.Accountability & Responsibility – We take ownership of our work and outcomes.Quality & Innovation – We strive for excellence and embrace new ideas.Relationships – We build trust with families, communities, and partners.High Support, High Challenge – We help each other to grow and perform at our best.Additional InformationYou will report to a Practice Supervisor.This role involves working outside normal office hours when required.The post is subject to an Enhanced DBS check.This position is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act.How to Apply If you’re passionate about improving outcomes for children and families in Birmingham and have the skills to lead family support practice, we’d love to hear from you. ?
