SEN Teaching Assistant – KS1 | Full-Time | Long-Term | Blackpool Start Date: January 2026Location: Primary School in Blackpool Contract Type: Full-Time, Long-Term Salary: Competitive, dependent on experienceTeaching Personnel are working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive Primary School in Blackpool to recruit a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support a child in Key Stage 1 with physical disabilities. This is a long-term role starting in January, with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate.The Role:
You will be working 1:1 with a child who requires physical support and tailored learning strategies to access the curriculum. Your role will involve:
Supporting mobility and physical needs throughout the school dayAssisting with personal care when requiredAdapting learning materials to suit the child’s needsCollaborating with the class teacher and SENCO to implement EHCP targetsCreating a nurturing and inclusive learning environment
The Ideal Candidate:
We are looking for someone who is:
Patient, empathetic, and passionate about supporting children with additional needsExperienced in working with children with physical disabilities (desirable but not essential)Knowledgeable about SEN strategies and inclusive practicesAble to work effectively as part of a team and independentlyCommitted to making a positive impact on a child’s educational journey
Qualifications & Experience:
TA qualification or recent experienceExperience in a school or care setting supporting children with SENManual handling or moving and handling training is advantageous
