As our next Group Head of Banking, you will steer the end-to-end banking function across the organization, spanning systems, operations, commercial growth, and cross-department collaboration. This role is instrumental in scaling payment services, optimizing internal banking processes, and ensuring our proposition evolves in line with fintech industry trends.You will work closely with Product, IT, Finance, Compliance, Operations, and Marketing to shape the strategic direction of our banking capabilities. Additionally, you will retain oversight of Sales & Account Management in Cyprus and the UK, ensuring these teams are integrated into banking operations rather than operating as isolated commercial units.What You’ll DoOversee and evolve our internal banking systems, partnering with Product and IT to improve functionality and scale. Build and maintain policies, processes, and structures that support operational efficiency and company growth. Ensure accurate processing, reporting, and integrity of all banking transactions, including data protection and contingency planning. Drive cross-department collaboration to establish best practices and strengthen internal banking operations. Support client relationship initiatives that enhance growth, satisfaction, and retention across our payment account proposition. Increase payment service account volumes and transaction turnover in line with business targets. Develop a smooth and structured onboarding process for payment account clients to improve efficiency and customer experience. Influence product shaping, roadmap priorities, and pricing strategies based on market needs and internal capabilities. Oversee Sales & Account Management in Cyprus and the UK, ensuring they operate as part of banking—not as a separate commercial unit. Bring a fintech-driven, forward-looking mindset, translating industry trends into strategy and action. Build strong working relationships with Compliance, Operations, Product, Marketing, Finance, Legal, and Risk to align on growth and regulatory needs. Provide operational and financial reporting to leadership, supporting decision-making, audits, and stakeholder requests. Partner with Finance to define KPIs and reporting metrics, ensuring transparency and performance visibility. Who You AreYou come from the payments / banking space and understand how banking operations, payment accounts, and transaction flows work in a regulated environment. You have hands-on experience working with (or alongside) Product and IT teams to shape internal banking capabilities and system functionality. You’re commercially minded and know how to translate operational capability into growth while staying aligned with compliance and risk. You’ve built or led teams across different countries or business units, and you know how to align people around process, performance, and execution. You’re comfortable owning policies, processes, and controls, and you’re not intimidated by complexity or regulatory detail. You balance strategic thinking with the ability to get things done — from onboarding improvements to reporting metrics. You can challenge the status quo and bring a forward-looking, fintech-driven perspective into decision-making. You communicate clearly, influence effectively, and build strong cross-functional relationships. You’re structured, organised, and comfortable owning KPIs, dashboards, and performance indicators. You’re adaptable, pragmatic, and capable of operating in a fast-moving, scaling environment. What You Bring 6–10+ years in payments, banking operations, or financial services. Experience with payment accounts, transaction processing, and internal banking systems. Exposure to SEPA/SWIFT/IBAN-related flows (or adjacent banking rails). Demonstrated leadership experience (people leadership or matrix leadership). Solid understanding of compliance, data protection, and operational risk. Proven ability to collaborate across Product, Operations, and Finance.
