English Lecturer / Teacher – Further Education College (Bromley) Location: Bromley Contract: Full-time / Permanent or Long-term Salary: Competitive – in line with college pay scales (dependent on experience and qualifications) Start Date: As soon as possibleAbout the Role We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated English Lecturer/Teacher to join a vibrant Further Education college in Bromley. The successful candidate will deliver engaging and high-quality English lessons to learners across a range of levels, helping them achieve their academic and personal goals.This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced teacher or a passionate ECT looking to develop their career within a supportive FE environment.Key Responsibilities Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging English lessons to students aged 16–19 and adult learners. Teach GCSE English and Functional Skills (Levels 1–2). Use a range of teaching methods and resources to meet diverse learning needs. Track, assess, and report on student progress, ensuring targets are met. Support learners with their literacy development and exam preparation. Contribute to curriculum development and the continuous improvement of the department. Requirements A recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, CertEd, DTLLS or equivalent) or willingness to work towards one. A degree or Level 5+ qualification in English (or a closely related subject). Experience teaching English in a college or secondary school setting. Strong classroom management and communication skills. Commitment to delivering high-quality teaching and supporting student success. An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
