Own Label Product Development ManagerLocation: West Yorkshire (Hybrid – three days in the office, two days from home)Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00 – 16:00 (flexible)Salary: £40,000Our client is looking for an experienced and commercially focused Own Label Product Development Manager to take full ownership of their own label portfolio. This is a key role for someone who can blend creativity with strong commercial judgement, driving product development and profitability while working with a high degree of autonomy.The Role• Lead the full lifecycle of own label product development, from initial concept and brief through to launch and review.• Grow and manage the own label range, focusing on sales performance, margin improvement and long-term category growth.• Negotiate confidently with suppliers on price, quality, service levels and lead times.• Ensure products are innovative, compliant, on-brand and commercially robust.• Monitor market trends, customer insight and competitor activity to identify and exploit new opportunities.• Review and approve samples, packaging, specifications and production sign-offs.• Work closely with Procurement, Marketing, Product Management and other internal teams to deliver the agreed development roadmap.• Ensure all products meet responsible procurement policies, quality standards and relevant regulations.About You• Proven experience in product development and/or buying, ideally within own label/private label.• Strong supplier management and negotiation skills, with the ability to build effective long-term relationships.• Highly commercial mindset, comfortable working with margin, pricing and category performance.• Creative, organised and able to manage multiple projects and deadlines independently.• Full UK driving licence, with flexibility to travel within the UK and occasionally overseas as required.Why Apply?• Competitive salary of £40,000.• Hybrid working pattern (three days in the office, two from home).• Genuine opportunity to shape, develop and grow a full own label range.• Varied, influential position combining creative product development with clear commercial impact.How to ApplyIf you are a commercially astute product or buying professional with a passion for own label development and innovation, please send us your CV today.
