You will be required to scribe and split sides of beef into quarters then re-hanging the hind quarter and moving them into the main production areasAs a Boning Hall Operative at our Bodmin Site, you will play a crucial role in our food production process. You will work in our Boning Hall, ensuring the efficient packing of meat products while adhering to strict quality and safety standards. This is a physically demanding role that requires attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. The job will suit those with ambition and a drive to progress within the company.Main responsibilitiesScribe and split beef into quarters and rehang hind quarters as directed by their supervisor, to customer specification.Be able to Lift weights and be able to move around the factory floor without assistance for the shift durationBe familiar with the daily production plan and work as part of the team to set up the line, complete checks and ensuring materials are ready to upPerform all pre-start up, hygiene and safety checks as directedReport all breakages, damages, or defaults of equipment to the Line Supervisor, ensuring all equipment/machinery is only used when it is safe to use. Record checks as and when directedEnsure that the product is of the highest standard and report any issues to the Line supervisor immediatelyReporting any accidents or near misses is expected and assistance with any investigation is a prerequisite of the Company’s safety policyAlways adhere to Health and Safety policies and proceduresAct in a responsible manner following all safety regulations; safe work practices, SOP’s and never risking one’s own safety.Ensure compliance with PPE policies and proceduresOther duties will be part of the role from time to time – this will be specified by your direct line Supervisor.Pack meat products in accordance with specific instructions and proceduresMonitor the quality of products, identifying and reporting any defects or issuesOperate packaging machinery and tools, ensuring proper function and maintenanceReport any risks or any evidence of unsafe or out of specification product, equipment, packaging or raw materials, to a designated manager to enable the resolution of issues requiring immediate action.You would be working Monday to Friday starting at 04:30 am to Production Finish.The pay for this role starts at £13.94 and can increase depending on competency bases assessment.RequirementsPrevious experience working in a high-volume meat processing factory highly beneficial but not a necessityAbility to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, while maintaining accuracy and attention to detailAble to work in chilled environmentManual handling ability and awarenessPhysically strength and Stamina to perform repetitive tasks lifting heavy itemsFluent in English, communicate well in written and oral form with multi-nationals on all levelsFlexibility to meet daily production targets Consistent approach and strong work ethic Able to work under own initiative and as part of a team Strong teamwork and communication skills to collaborate effectively with colleaguesAdaptable to change and production demandsRole LevelA role model for the Kepak values of responsibility, Ambition,Passion for food and Teamwork.
