Job Title: Low Latency Java Developer Location: London (3 days on-site per week) Salary/Rate: Up to £575 Per Day - Inside IR35 Start Date: 10/11/2025 Job Type: Contract (until 10th November 2026) Company Introduction: We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Low Latency Java Developer to join a high-performing technology team within the financial sector. This is an excellent chance to work on cutting-edge systems supporting electronic FX trading and algorithmic execution. Job Responsibilities/Objectives: Develop and enhance low latency Java-based trading systems and related services. Collaborate with Business Analysts, Project Managers, and QA teams to deliver robust and compliant solutions. Prototype and develop solutions in an agile environment to support pricing and trading algorithms. Contribute to all phases of the software delivery lifecycle, including design, documentation, testing, and deployment. Provide technical support and third-line assistance for production systems. Participate in sprint planning, estimation, and software release processes, including occasional out-of-hours work. Required Skills/Experience: Proven experience developing low latency Java applications in a trading or similarly demanding environment. Strong knowledge of FIX protocol and other market connectivity standards. Familiarity with UNIX operating systems and command-line environments. Solid understanding of software delivery methodologies such as Agile, SCRUM, or Kanban. Excellent communication and analytical skills, with a systematic approach to problem-solving. Desirable Skills/Experience: Front-office or quantitative finance experience, particularly within FX or electronic trading. Experience with C# or UI components within trading systems. Knowledge of low latency performance tuning and high-frequency trading environments. Experience working closely with infrastructure and operations teams to ensure production stability.
