Our client is seeking a Java Developer with experience working on the ION trading platform, to join their team for a freelance B2B contract that is expected to last for an initial 12-month period with a chance of extension. This position is hybrid and will require you to have 3 days per week on-site in London with 2 day remote. Project details: Position: Java Developer Contract Length: 12 Months+ Start date: January 2026 Location 3 days per week on-site in London Languages: English Skills and Responsibilities: 10+ years of professional Java development experience Strong knowledge of low-latency, multi-threaded programming techniques Experience with trading platforms (e.g., Bloomberg, Tradeweb) Understanding of financial markets, particularly Rates and Credit bonds/derivatives Outstanding experience and knowledge with ION platform Expertise in object-oriented design patterns and SOLID principles Experience with functional programming concepts.
