SEND Teaching Assistant (SEND TA) Location: Barnham Salary: £90 – £95 per day (depending on experience) Start Date: Immediate Contract Type: Day-to-day / Long-term | Full-time / Part-timeDo you have the compassion and dedication to support a child with medical needs and physical disabilities in reaching their full potential?GSL Education are looking for a SEND Teaching Assistant to provide one-to-one support for a pupil in Barnham. This rewarding role offers the chance to make a meaningful difference by assisting a child with both academic and personal development in a caring and inclusive environment.SEND Teaching Assistant Responsibilities: Provide dedicated one-to-one support for a pupil with medical and physical needs throughout the school day.Assist with mobility, personal care, and the safe use of specialist equipment as required.Support classroom learning by adapting tasks and materials to meet the pupil’s individual needs.Foster independence, confidence, and social interaction in a supportive and respectful manner.Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and healthcare professionals to implement care and learning plans.Monitor progress and share updates with the SENCO and wider support team. Requirements for SEND Teaching Assistant (SEND TA): Previous experience supporting children with physical disabilities or medical conditions is highly desirable.A patient, empathetic, and nurturing approach to care and learning.Ability to follow health and safety procedures and handle sensitive situations with professionalism.Strong communication and teamwork skills.Commitment to safeguarding and promoting children’s wellbeing.A valid enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service or willingness to apply through GSL Education.
