We are seeking an experienced Finance Officer for a 3-month interim assignment to support our client in clearing a backlog of Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), and reconciliation tasks. The successful candidate will play a key role in bringing financial records up to date, improving reporting accuracy and also supporting through a system migration from Xero to Netsuite in the new year. This is a hands-on role that requires excellent attention to detail, strong organisational skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. You will be a proven problem solver that will take initiative to find information to sort through problems. Key Responsibilities Accounts Payable (AP): Review and process outstanding supplier invoices, ensuring all items are coded, approved, and recorded accurately. Reconcile supplier accounts and resolve historical discrepancies. Prepare and process payment runs for overdue or pending invoices. Ensure all documentation is complete and compliant with company policy. Accounts Receivable (AR): Review and reconcile outstanding client invoices and payments. Investigate and resolve unallocated or aged debtor balances. Support the collection of overdue accounts and communicate with clients where necessary. Ensure client billing records are accurate and up to date. Reconciliations & Clean-Up: Perform detailed reconciliations of bank accounts, balance sheet items, and control accounts. Identify, investigate, and correct historical posting errors or duplications. Support month-end clean-up activities and assist in preparing reconciled financial data for reporting. Implement process improvements to prevent future backlogs. Client Reporting: Produce accurate and timely client reports reflecting current financial positions. Work with internal stakeholders to ensure reporting integrity and consistency. Skills & Experience Essential: Demonstrated experience in AP and AR functions, ideally within a high-volume environment. Proven ability to manage financial clean-up or backlog reconciliation projects. Strong attention to detail and analytical skills. Proficient in accounting systems (e.g., Xero, MYOB, SAP, or similar) and Excel. Ability to work independently and deliver results under tight deadlines. Desirable: Experience in client billing and financial reporting ideally from a Media / Marketing agency background. Exposure to process improvement or systems migration projects. Relevant accounting qualification (AAT, part-qualified ACCA/CIMA, or equivalent). Key Attributes Results-driven and highly organised. Strong problem-solving and investigative mindset.
