We’re seeking a dynamic, passionate, and highly motivated team player to help deliver a world-class portfolio of events in the climate change and sustainability space.Your key focus areas will include:Delivering memorable experiences that inspire and engageChampioning excellence, precision, and passion in every aspect of event operationsLeading the operational delivery of conferences and exhibitions from conception to completionManaging both existing and newly launched events across the portfolioOverseeing all event logistics and onsite event managementEnsuring optimal customer experience through thoughtful planning and executionCoordinating sponsor and exhibitor management to maximise engagement and satisfactionHandling budget planning and cost control without compromising qualitySelecting and managing venues and service providers to ensure seamless deliveryMaintaining exceptional attention to detail and upholding the highest standards The Event Operations Manager role will constantly evolve and develop as the business grows and will report directly to the Chief Operating Officer.This is a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience across high-profile events attended by senior representatives from regional governments, UN agencies, international and regional NGOs, investors, donors, research institutes, and solution providers.RequirementsWe’re looking for someone who meets the essential criteria below and ideally brings some of the desirable qualities too.EssentialProven experience in conference and exhibition management with extensive international operational experience (including sponsor liaison, event delivery, budget management, registration, customer service, venue/supplier management, health and safety, and risk assessments)Passionate about climate change and sustainability, with a desire to organise successful global events that reduce carbon footprintSkilled in delivering digital events across various platforms such as Zoom, Hopin and SwapcardFlexible approach to event delivery and ability to meet client demands within tight timeframesStrong track record leading operations for conferences and exhibitions of all scales, including events with 1,000+ attendeesConfident negotiator with experience in sourcing and managing suppliersOwnership of budgeting, financial planning, and cost containment strategiesThrive in fast-paced environments with an independent working style and strong multitasking and time management skillsHighly organised and methodical, with exceptional attention to detailNatural leader with the ability to motivate teams, drive operational excellence, and deliver high-impact eventsEffective communicator with strong interpersonal skills for building and maintaining stakeholder relationshipsPositive work ethic, proactive mindset, and eagerness to learn and growTake initiative and ownership of responsibilities with a self-motivated attitudeCommitted to delivering outstanding event experiences, with a hands-on approach when neededOpen to unrestricted travel for event delivery and coordinationCompetent in health and safety protocols, including writing thorough risk assessmentsAbility to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environmentStrong written and verbal communication skillsExcellent organisational skills and attention to detailA proactive, self-starting attitude with flexibility to work independently and collaborativelyDesirableEnthusiasm for sustainabilityAn IOSH qualificationInternational experience and foreign language skillsSimilar roles in other organisations may be titled: Events Operations Manager, Event Manager, Event Operations Lead, Conference Organiser, Event Organiser, Senior Events Manager, International Events ManagerBenefitsAt Climate Action, we reward purpose-driven work with meaningful benefits:Competitive base salary with a generous bonus schemeUncapped commission structure to recognise your success24 days of annual leave (including your birthday) plus UK bank holidaysEthical pension plan with The People’s PensionPrivate Healthcare via Benenden HealthWeWork perks: free barista coffee, community bar, table tennis, showers and a pet-friendly office!Hybrid working: three days in our office (Mon, Wed & Thu), two remote days (Tue & Fri), plus 10 additional remote days post-probationOpportunities to attend international events and collaborate with global climate leadersA mission-led culture where your work drives real impact worldHow to ApplyReady to make an impact?
