Procurement Supply Chain AssistantPeople Solutions are currently recruiting for a Procurement Supply Chain Assistant to join our well-established client in Leicester on a full-time permanent basis. Shifts: Monday to Thursday 7:30am – 3:45pm, Friday 7:30am – 2:30pmSalary: £27,000 – £35,000 per annum (dependent on experience)Benefits include: Health Shield benefits (GP, dentist, counselling, and more)Company pension after 3 monthsCommunity events, e.g., Christmas partyFree on-site parkingLong-term permanent role with training and progression opportunities Day-to-day duties:As a Procurement Supply Chain Assistant, your duties will include (but not be limited to): Handling all Far East purchase orders, ensuring accuracy within the LN system and tracking spreadsheetsMaintaining purchase orders and updating delivery/status dates across the businessObtaining, logging, and monitoring air freight quotesRaising purchase orders (POs) and maintaining supplier databasesCompleting and issuing invoices and packing lists for customers, including PZ Cussons and HenkelMonitoring inventory in LN system to prevent supply issuesAssisting with annual packaging waste data submissionsProviding proactive administrative and operational support to the procurement functionIssuing quality certificates and liaising with customers on behalf of the Quality departmentProviding contingency cover for purchasing and supply chain tasks during absencesMaintaining main switchboard calls as part of the Customer Service team rotaSupporting general administrative tasks and other duties aligned with role responsibilities Essential skills:To be successful as a Procurement Supply Chain Assistant, you will need: Experience in procurement, logistics, or supply chain supportKnowledge of import/export procedures and freight quotationsUnderstanding of Incoterms and customs documentationExcellent communication, negotiation, and organisational skillsStrong attention to detail and accuracyAbility to work under pressure to tight deadlinesProficiency in Microsoft Office and other online systemsReliable, proactive, and a team player Desirable experience: Experience in a packaging or manufacturing environmentExposure to contractor/facilities coordinationMultilingual skills Training: Industry-specific training will be provided, with ongoing support and development opportunities.
