Job Title: SEMH Teaching Assistant (TA) Location: Sheffield (S1) Pay Rate: £95 – £110 per day (depending on experience) Start Date: Immediate Contract Type: Day-to-day / Long-term | Full-time / Part-timeDo you enjoy supporting young learners to overcome challenges and develop confidence in a nurturing school environment?GSL Education are seeking a dedicated SEMH TA to join an inclusive and supportive school in Sheffield (S1). This role offers the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of pupils with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, helping them engage positively with their learning.In the role of SEMH TA, you will deliver focused support to pupils with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs, working one-to-one and with small groups.As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will: Provide one-to-one or small-group support for pupils with SEMH and behavioural needs.Help maintain a safe, structured, and supportive classroom that encourages emotional wellbeing.Work with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral teams to deliver personalised learning and behaviour plans.Promote resilience, confidence, and positive social interactions.Manage challenging behaviour calmly and consistently.Help track pupil progress and share feedback with teachers. To be an SEMH TA, you’ll require: Experience supporting children or young people with SEMH, behavioural needs, or other learning difficulties.A patient, caring, and proactive attitude when working with pupils.Good communication and relationship-building skills.Able to work well in a team and follow teacher direction.An enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).A full CV covering the last 10 years, with explanations for any gaps.
