Job Title: Mental Health Support Worker Location: Bournemouth Pay Rate: £13.68 - £16.12 per hour (Depending on experience) Start Date: Immediate Contract Type: Full Time/Part Time Are you deeply committed to supporting students facing Mental Health challenges, Anxiety, and Behavioural needs, helping them thrive and grow with confidence?GSL Education are thrilled to offer a rewarding opportunity for a Mental Health Support Worker at a dynamic school in Bournemouth, where you can make a meaningful difference in the lives of students while supporting their mental health and well-being.Essential Qualities That We Are Looking For: Provide personalised support to students with complex mental health, anxiety, and behaviour needs, making sure their Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs) are followed.Collaborate with teachers to create an engaging curriculum that addresses mental health and behavioural challenges, including outdoor activities.Foster a caring learning environment that supports students’ social, emotional, and mental well-being, focusing on anxiety and behaviour issues.Administer medications according to school policies and safety guidelines.Provide personal care, such as help with hygiene and bathing, while always respecting the students’ dignity.Encourage students to become more independent in their daily activities.Assist students in fully participating in classroom activities by using effective communication techniques as guided by the teacher. The Successful Candidate Will: A good understanding of the different needs related to mental health, anxiety, and behaviour.The ability to adjust teaching methods to fit the unique needs of each student, especially those dealing with mental health issues.A patient and caring attitude when handling challenging behaviour.A proactive and open mindset while working as part of a team with different professionals. To work with GSL Education as Mental Health Support Worker, ‘you should: Have the right to work in the UK.Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last 2 years.Have an enhanced DBS registered to the update service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education.
