Are you a passionate and experienced Early Years Educator with a strong understanding of the EYFS?Do you have the knowledge, creativity, and care needed to support children in their crucial early stages of development?A warm and inclusive Primary School in Skelmersdale (WN8) is seeking to appoint a committed and nurturing Early Years Educator to join their team from November 2025. This full-time, fixed-term position, with the potential of it becoming permanent. It provides an excellent opportunity to support young children’s learning, development, and wellbeing in a highly supportive environment.
About the Role:You will play a key role in delivering high-quality early years education, supporting the development of children aged 3 –5 in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework. Working closely with room leaders and other practitioners, you will help create a safe, stimulating and engaging learning environment that encourages exploration, communication, and personal growth.This role is perfect for someone with proven experience in the early years sector, with a level 3 or above qualification in Early Years/ Childcare, who is confident in using observation and assessment to plan effectively for children's individual needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Support children’s learning and development across all areas of the EYFSDeliver planned activities and contribute to child-led learning opportunitiesUse observations and assessments to inform next steps and record progressPromote children's physical, emotional, and social wellbeingEncourage independence, curiosity and positive behaviour through play-based learningBuild strong, trusting relationships with children, families and colleaguesMaintain a safe, clean and inclusive environment that meets safeguarding standardsWork collaboratively as part of a professional and reflective early years team
Essential Requirements:
Level 3 Early Years qualification (e.g. CACHE, NVQ, BTEC, Tlevel or equivalent)Recent and relevant experience working within the early years sectorA secure understanding of the EYFS framework and child development principlesExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsA caring, enthusiastic and child-centred approachAbility to work effectively as part of a team and independentlyA strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all children

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
