We’re looking for a Senior / Principal 3D Generalist to contribute to art production on a fun and vibrant co-op game. This is for a 1 month contract, with potential to extend further depending on how things go. Key Responsibilities1 - Create game-ready artWorking from references and rough sketches you’ll be expected to create a range of game assets; characters, environments, props, modular kit pieces etc. Success looks like:Understanding our art ethos and working autonomously with high level directionGrasping our art style and adapting quicklyRapid output by focusing on getting the core elements right rather than superficial detailsMaking the team and players laugh with the character and humor in your art2 - Be a force multiplier, not just an asset makerThere’s more to it than just creating assets, it’s about being an invaluable team member.Success looks like:Communicating and collaborating with the team. Nurturing the synergy between disciplines and problem solving the gaps in-betweenJoining playtests and contributing to decisions beyond artIdentifying risks and constraints early and redirecting effort when neededBeing pro-active and moving the project forward, even if you’re waiting for feedback or currently blocked, you know how to identify meaningful work to keep momentum3 - Own integration & workflow inside engineYou’re not just handing off art assets, you’ll also own how assets live in-engine and how pipelines scaleSuccess looks like:Importing, setting up and hooking up assets in engine end-to-endBuilding practical systems (modular kits, materials, prefabs, folders, naming etc)Spotting inefficiencies and offering better solutions Keeping scenes performant without sacrificing the game’s visionRequirementsSenior to Principal experience level. Comfortable working autonomously with high level direction, championing your area of responsibilityBroad artistic & technical skillset: Characters, Environments & PropsProficient with Unity; asset implementation, lighting, shaders & materials etcComfortable in Blender (preferred) or able to transition quicklyHappy to prioritize speed & efficiency over polish: e.g using Unity store assets where it makes sense (model packs, VFX, shaders, tools etc.) instead of building everything from scratch‘Good enough’ mindset: Our games look good but we’re not here to win art awards or build stunning portfolio pieces. The experience is king.General understanding of supporting optimization and performance for online multiplayer titles (from an art POV)
