Class 1 HGV Driver – Steel Deliveries (Accrington) Location: Blackburn (commutable from Accrington, Burnley, Preston, Darwen) Pay: £14.00 per hour + Overtime at £21.00/hour after 8 hours per shift Hours: Monday to Friday – Day shifts Job Type: Temporary (ongoing opportunities available) The Role We’re looking for a skilled and reliable Class 1 (Cat C+E) Driver to join our client’s steel distribution team based in Blackburn. You’ll be responsible for delivering steel lengths and palletised stainless steel to customers across the North West. This is a hands-on role where attention to detail and safe load securing are key. The work is straightforward and steady — no nights out, just day work Monday to Friday with the chance to pick up overtime paid at a premium rate. Key Responsibilities Safely transport steel lengths and palletised stainless steel to various local and regional destinations. Ensure all loads are securely strapped and comply with health & safety regulations. Complete all necessary paperwork and delivery documentation accurately. Carry out daily vehicle checks and report any defects or issues promptly. Represent the company in a professional and customer-focused manner. Requirements Valid Class 1 (Category C+E) driving licence. Up-to-date CPC and Digital Tachograph Card. Proven experience delivering steel or similar heavy goods. Excellent load strapping and securing skills – essential. Good communication and time management skills. A professional attitude with a focus on safety and reliability.
