This is an excellent opportunity to help young learners overcome challenges, build confidence, and develop essential emotional and academic skills in a nurturing environment.Role Overview:As an SEMH TA, you will help maintain a calm, structured, and supportive learning environment that promotes emotional wellbeing and engagement.As an SEMH TA, you will: Provide 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with SEMH and behavioural needs.Help create a calm, structured, and encouraging learning environment.Assist teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral staff in delivering tailored learning and behaviour support plans.Promote pupils’ resilience, self-regulation, and positive social interactions.Support pupils with emotional wellbeing and confidence-building.Monitor progress and share observations with staff to inform continued support. Requirements for SEMH Teaching Assistant: Previous experience supporting pupils with SEMH, SEND, or behavioural needs (school or care experience desirable).Strong communication, teamwork, and behaviour management skills.A compassionate, patient, and proactive approach to working with learners facing challenges.Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).A full CV covering the last 10 years, with explanations for any gaps.
