Working arrangementsThis is an onsite role based in our easily accessible premises on Meridian Business Park, Leicester, LE19 1WH. There is free car parking onsite.Overview We are looking for a Quality Inspector to join our team to control/Manage supplier quality. This is a new position to support the quality department as Ridgway grows.This is a key position reporting to the Quality Manager.RequirementsResponsibilitiesReviewing products and materials supplied to ensure they meet company requirementsMeasuring parts/components compared to their intended specificationsReporting on quality issues to suppliersCollaborating with the supply chain team to develop corrective actions for identified issues.Ensuring KPIs are met for cost of qualityCarry out internal audits in line with ISO9001.Support with the continuous improvement and 5S activities.Work closely with other teams like supply chain, engineering and procurement.Inspect on component finishes like Phosphate, BZP and PaintInspect FAIR reports from suppliersInspect fabrications during manufacturing process at suppliersRequirementsProven background and experience within an inspection team.Understanding of continuous improvement tools and 5S.Understanding route cause analysis tools and ability to implement corrective and preventative actions.Working with measuring equipment like vernier, micrometres, hight gauge, gauges etc.Ideally has also worked in a Small, Medium Enterprise (SME) and is able to demonstrate the ability to ‘roll their sleeves up’ and personally get things done as part of a small teamBenefitsSalary dependent on skills and experience and will be discussed from the outset37.5 hour working week, Friday finish at 1.30pm for production teams25 days paid annual leave plus 8 days paid public holidaysCompany Bonus schemeStakeholder PensionFamily friendly policiesTraining and Personal DevelopmentSome onward International Travel OpportunitiesComplementary corporate work wearRelocation AssistanceCompany backgroundHere at Ridgway Machines, we are a specialised engineering company paving the way for bespoke, tailored machinery targeting a variety of engineering sectors from Coil Manufacturing, RTP and TCP taping machinery to Superconductor Winding and Taping machinery.
