SEND 1:1 Teaching Assistant Needed – Stockton-on-TeesAre you an experienced and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant with the skills to support children with challenging behaviour? We’re recruiting for a 1:1 role in a welcoming school in Stockton-on-Tees, working closely with a child who needs consistent, tailored support. About the Role: Position: 1:1 SEND Teaching Assistant Location: Stockton-on-Tees Start Date: ASAP Hours: Full-time, term-time only Contract: Ongoing supply, with potential for long-term placement You’ll work closely with teaching staff and the SENCO to provide structured, individualised support to help the child access the curriculum and thrive in a safe, supportive environment.Responsibilities: Providing 1:1 support for a child with identified behavioural needs Managing and de-escalating challenging behaviour in a positive, consistent way Implementing behaviour strategies and personalised support plans Promoting emotional regulation and social skills Working closely with teachers, SEN staff, and external professionals Requirements: Experience supporting children with SEND and/or behavioural needs Strong behaviour management skills and calm, patient approach A resilient and empathetic attitude Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willing to obtain) Team Teach or similar training is an advantage (not essential) A genuine commitment to helping children succeed What We Offer: Competitive daily pay Weekly pay and ongoing support from our team Opportunity to make a real impact in a child’s school experience Possibility of a long-term or permanent role for the right candidate All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role.
