To support students who struggle with their class workFacilitate a fun and friendly learning environmentTo provide support to the class teacherTo help the class teacher prepare lesson materials and classroom boardsTo keep the classroom a tidy and presentable environmentTo encourage children to do their bestHelp manage classroom behaviourListen to the children read and practice their phonics
Qualifications & Skills required for Mental Health Support Worker:
Experience working with children with special educational needs, particularly those with autism or social and emotional needs (preferred, not essential).Experience working with SEN (in school, care, or voluntary settings) preferred, not essentialKnowledge of and experience with behaviour management strategies.Ability to work effectively as part of a team and communicate effectively with parents and other professionals.A patient and nurturing approach to working with children.Ability to adapt and be flexible in a fast-paced and changing environment.Commitment to ongoing professional development in SEN practices and strategies.
