SEND Teaching Assistant Location: Derby Pay: £90 – £120 per day (DOE) Start Date: Immediate Contract: Day-to-day / Long-term | Full-time / Part-time“Every Child Deserves a Champion — Could That Be You?”Are you a compassionate and patient individual who thrives on helping children with additional needs reach their full potential?GSL Education are seeking a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to support students in inclusive and nurturing school environments across Derby. You will play a vital role in supporting students with special educational needs both in and out of the classroom, assist the class teacher in creating engaging lessons and provide individualised support to help each learner build confidence, develop independence, and make meaningful progress.Your Duty: Support students with a range of SEND, including autism, ADHD, speech and language, and learning difficultiesProvide one-to-one and small group support tailored to individual needsCollaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals to implement learning plansEncourage positive behaviour, emotional well-being, and active participation in classAdapt learning materials to make lessons accessible and engagingFoster an inclusive classroom environment where every child feels valued What you’ll require: Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEND (school-based or similar setting)A caring, patient, and adaptable approach to working with childrenStrong communication and teamwork skillsCACHE Level 2/3 or equivalent qualification (preferred but not essential)Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply) Apply now to make a lasting impact in the lives of children who need it most — every small step you take makes a big differencePlease be advised that this role requires a strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection, and successful applicants must satisfy all background safer recruitment checks, including providing an enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service or completing a new application
