Gold Stag Accounts is a small, forward-thinking accountancy firm supporting small businesses and freelancers across the UK. There is no office to work from, and this role is only open to people who live and work in the UK with full right to work.We are also unable to consider applicants who currently own or plan to run their own accounting practice in conjunction with this role. What you’ll be doingYou’ll be a key part of our small team, taking ownership of client work and helping us maintain our high standards. Typical tasks include:Preparing and finalising accounts for limited companies, sole traders and partnershipsPreparing and finalising self-assessment tax returnsCorporate, personal and partnership tax computations and returnsReviewing and supervising work from junior team membersDealing with HMRC on behalf of clientsKeeping up with CPD requirementsAny other reasonable tasks required to support our clients and the teamYou’ll be working remotely with flexible hours, but you’ll still be expected to manage deadlines and communicate clearly with the team. Who we’re looking forWe’re specifically looking for someone who can hit the ground running with minimal hand-holding.You must:Be AAT Level 4 qualified (or higher)Have at least 2 years of solid experience in practice or industryBe very confident in reviewing and finalising annual accountsBe very confident in reviewing and finalising self-assessment tax returnsHave strong attention to detail and take pride in getting things rightBe comfortable working independently and using your own initiativeBe proficient with ExcelLive and work in the UK with full right to workExcellent communicator – able to speak with clients in a friendly, clear and approachable manner, adapting your style to their level of understandingTrustworthy and relatable, with the confidence to explain accounting matters and calmlySomeone who builds genuine rapport and puts clients at ease, even when discussing complex or stressful topics It’s a bonus (but not essential) if you:Have experience with FreeAgent, Xero and/or QuickBooksEnjoy working in a small team where you can really make a difference What we offer£31,000 – £43,000 salary, depending on experiencePart-time role with the possibility of moving to full-timeFully remote working – no commute, no officeFlexible working hoursRolling holiday payOptional workplace pensionA supportive, friendly team that values work-life balance and wellbeingHow to applyPlease email jobs@goldstagaccounts.co.uk with:Your CVPlease also include a brief, down-to-earth cover email that tells us a bit about yourself.
