Pay rate – £40 per hour Contract – Temporary (Part-time, 17.5 hours per week) Liverpool City Council are currently recruiting experienced children’s Social Workers for their Special Guardianship Support team. Advanced Practitioner - PART TIME 17.5hrs per week (maternity leave cover)The Role: We are currently recruiting an experienced part time social worker to join us in our Special Guardianship Support Team. Your role will be to provide post Special Guardianship Order (SGO) support to families. As a social worker you will carry out Needs Assessments with Special Guardianship carers and children to a high quality. You will hold professional responsibility for a caseload of children who are subject to SGO’s and placed in the special guardianship placement.You will need to be able to demonstrate that you can work proactively with the allocated children’s social workers and partner agencies to achieve the best possible outcomes for our Liverpool children.You will be responsible for supporting the children and SGO carers, alongside the child’s parentsAs a social worker you will need to be aware of the Adoption and Special Guardianship Support Fund (ASGSF), as this role will involve you identifying therapeutic support for families and completing applications for this fundWe are looking for experienced, enthusiastic and dedicated practitioners, who consider themselves organised and resilient, who can effectively balance the demands of completing a number of different assessments simultaneously. The team has a strong and supportive management structure Children’s Social Workers will need at least 3 years’ permanent experience with an English local authority and to be registered with Social Work England, as per DfE rules.
