Financial Controller – £85k-£110k FTE– LondonThe RoleAre you a fully qualified chartered accountant with at least ten years' experience and a passion for real number crunching?About our companyOur client, a well-established Single-Family Office managing a significant investment portfolio from its Blackfriars office, is seeking a hands-on Financial Controller to join its small, collaborative team. This is a rare opportunity to take ownership of financial control, reporting and investment valuations in a high-net-worth environment where technical expertise, precision and proactive insight make a real impact. The ideal candidate will bring a background in practice with experience working with private clients and will be comfortable managing complex accounting and compliance requirements with discretion, autonomy and professionalism.You’ll be trusted to lead financial reporting and controls, reporting to the Finance Director and advising directly at Board level. Key Responsibilities Lead end-to-end financial reporting with complete accuracyPrepare year-end accounts, trial balances and schedules, including investment valuationsSupport and coordinate the audit process, liaising with external auditors and resolving queriesOversee tax compliance and regulatory filings (Companies House, HMRC)Handle complex investment valuations, bringing clear insights to the tableEnsure compliance with HMRC and Companies House obligations, including Corporation Tax, P11Ds, payroll and statutory filingsMaintain rigorous financial controls and respond swiftly to evolving business needs The personYou will bring: Full ACA qualification and a solid audit/practice backgroundStrong technical knowledge of UK compliance and tax systems, with comfort in investment valuations and complex Excel analysisHands-on experience in valuing and accounting for investments (not property)The ability to cut through complexity and present clear financial thinkingPragmatic, detail-oriented and discreet with the ability to adapt to a small, loyal and trusted team environmentFull time or 4 days per week considered The Benefits High-visibility role directly supporting the family principalsBroad, challenging remit with real decision-making influenceExposure to high-value investment portfolios, complex transactions and hands-on accounting workSupport in pursuing professional qualifications, if requiredFlexible working patternA stable, respected company with a long-term perspective What’s nextIf you're a sharp, technically strong accountant looking for a role where you’ll be trusted and involved at the highest level, we’d love to hear from you.
