Job Title: Delivery DriverJob Type: 0 Hours At Avicenna, we’re a small group of 25 community pharmacies committed to doing things differently. We’re now looking for Prescription Delivery Drivers who are ready to play a vital frontline role in supporting the health and wellbeing of our communities. As a Delivery Driver, you’ll be the trusted link between our pharmacy and the patients who rely on us most. You’ll ensure essential medicines reach people safely, promptly, and with the friendly service Avicenna is known for. Representing our pharmacy out in the community, your role is key to supporting patient care especially for those who are housebound, vulnerable, or managing long-term conditions. Key responsibilities include: Deliver prescriptions to patients’ homes in a safe, timely, and professional manner Provide excellent customer service, acting as a friendly and reassuring presence Handle medicines responsibly, following all delivery protocols and safety guidelines Confirm patient identity and obtain accurate delivery signatures or confirmations Assist with collecting prescriptions from GP surgeries when required Support the pharmacy team with loading, sorting, and preparing delivery routes Maintain high standards of vehicle cleanliness and basic safety checks Uphold confidentiality and comply with all relevant SOPs and pharmacy regulations Represent Avicenna positively within the local community What We’re Looking For A full UK driving licence with a clean driving record Reliable, punctual, and confident working independently Friendly, courteous, and patient-focused attitude Strong communication and customer service skills Good knowledge of the local area (advantageous) Previous delivery or customer-facing experience (preferred, not essential) What We Offer Competitive hourly rate and employee benefits Full training and ongoing support A welcoming and inclusive work environment The opportunity to make a meaningful difference every day A role that supports community health and patient wellbeing A workplace where your contribution truly matters Join Us At Avicenna, you’re not just taking a job you’re joining a mission.
