3-month contract position with a local authoritySummaryThis is a 3-month contract position with a local authority, working alongside the Flying Start Childcare Team. The role involves supporting families and children by delivering group sessions, promoting speech, language, and communication development, and facilitating access to childcare and family support services. The aim is to create a welcoming environment that encourages peer support and strengthens connections between childcare, family support, and health services.ResponsibilitiesPlan, organise, and deliver group sessions (including online) and informal gatherings in childcare settings and family centres.Provide activities that promote speech, language, and communication development.Assist families in accessing childcare and family centre services.Provide information, advice, and guidance on available community services, including third sector, local authority, and health services.Actively promote collaboration between Childcare, Family Support, and Speech & Language Therapy services.Encourage peer support among families to build strong community networks.Maintain accurate records of sessions and family interactions.Report progress and challenges to the Flying Start Childcare Team.Essential Experience RequiredPrevious experience working with children, young people, and families in a support or childcare setting.Experience in delivering activities that promote speech and language development is advantageous.Essential Qualifications RequiredGood standard of education (minimum 5 GCSEs or equivalent).Proficiency in technology and software applications.Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills.Ability to travel throughout Conwy County.Additional InformationWorking hours: 37 hours per week, Monday – Friday.Location: Conway Road, Colwyn Bay, Conwy County Borough, LL297AZ, United Kingdom.The assignment is expected to last approximately 12 weeks with potential to be extended.There is an expectation that the candidate lives locally or within a commutable distance as the position is located in Conwy County. The worker will operate from family centres across Conwy County and visit childcare settings.The role closes on 26th November 2025, apply ASAP.
