RMS Recruitment are looking for a highly skilled Technical Operations Manager to lead our clients Mechanical & Bodyshop Department. Location: KillingholmeSalary: Up to £60,000 per annum (Dependent on Experience) Employment Type: Full Time, Permanent About the role:In this key leadership role, you will take responsibility for day-to-day workshop operations, ensuring high levels of quality, safety, productivity and efficiency. You will lead a team of mechanics and technicians, driving performance, adopting modern techniques and maintaining the highest technical standards. Key Responsibilities:Technical Leadership: Provide expert technical support, guidance and direction to workshop teamsDrive adoption of modern repair, bodywork and diagnostic techniquesCollaborate cross-functionally to bring new technologies into operational practice Workshop Operations Manage daily mechanical & bodyshop workflowSchedule and plan work effectively to optimise capacityEnsure all repairs and servicing meet time, cost and quality expectations People & Team Development Lead and develop the mechanical & bodyshop teamsConduct performance reviews and build training plansMaintain a strong, positive and collaborative workshop culture Quality, Compliance & Safety Implement and uphold strict quality control proceduresEnsure compliance with relevant H&S legislation and standardsConduct audits, risk assessments and incident investigations Resource & Inventory Management Manage workshop tools, materials, consumables & equipmentLiaise with suppliers to maintain required stock levelsSupport cost control and departmental budget management About You: Strong technical background within the automotive / mechanical repair sectorPrevious workshop leadership and technician management experienceCity & Guilds / NVQ or equivalent in Automotive Mechanics / Light Vehicle / RepairsConfident with H&S compliance and safe workshop operating standardsCompetent in Microsoft Office packages (Excel, Word, Outlook) If you are a technical lead wanting to step into a role with genuine authority, strategic impact, and progression – apply today with your CV.
