A local secondary school is looking for someone steady, caring and confident to join their SEND team and make a real difference to pupils who need extra guidance.What the role involves as a SEND Support AssistantYou’ll work directly with students who have a range of additional needs, helping them access learning, build confidence and stay settled in class. No two days will look the same, and you’ll be part of a supportive team who value patience, teamwork and consistency.You may work one-to-one, support small groups or help pupils within the classroom alongside the teacher.How you’ll make an impact as a SEND Support Assistant Providing tailored support to pupils with SENDHelping young people manage routines, emotions and behaviourWorking closely with teachers, SENCOs and pastoral teamsEncouraging positive engagement in lessonsSupporting pupils during transitions, unstructured times or challenging momentsCreating a safe, calm and trustworthy presence around the school We’d love to hear from you if you have Experience supporting young people with SEND, SEMH or behavioural needsA patient, empathetic approachGood communication and teamwork skillsConfidence to support pupils with differing needsAn enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply What you’ll gain through Protocol Education Weekly PAYE pay, no umbrella deductionsFree online CPD including SEND, SEMH, de-escalation and behaviour modulesOngoing support from your own dedicated consultantReferral bonusesOpportunities in secondary, SEND and alternative provision settings About UsProtocol Education is part of the Supporting Education Group, a collection of specialist education organisations committed to helping schools deliver the best outcomes for their pupils.
