Location: Oldham Contract: Full-time, Temporary (Agency) Start Date: ASAP Pay Rate: Competitive, dependent on experienceAre you an experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) looking for a rewarding role in a Special Educational Needs (SEN) primary school? We are seeking a dedicated professional to join a supportive team and make a real difference in the lives of children with additional needs. In this role you will be supporting children with a range of complex needs such as Autism, struggles with their speech and language, Physical disabilities and Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD). Job ResponsibilitiesAs an HLTA in this SEN setting, you will: Deliver planned lessons and interventions under the guidance of the class teacher.Lead small group and one-to-one sessions to support learning and development.Cover whole classes during teacher absence.Adapt resources and activities to meet individual pupil needs.Support pupils with a range of SEN, including autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and complex learning needs.Implement behaviour management strategies and promote positive behaviour.Assist with personal care and emotional regulation where required.Monitor and record pupil progress, feeding back to teachers and SENCO.Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and support staff to create an inclusive learning environment.Contribute to the preparation of classroom materials and displays.Ensure safeguarding and health & safety policies are followed at all times. Requirements HLTA qualification or equivalent experience.Previous experience working with children or vulnerable adults with complex needs.Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection.Excellent communication and behaviour management skills.Ability to adapt teaching strategies to meet individual needs.Employment references covering the last 24 monthsAn enhanced DBS on the Update service (or willingness to obtain one)Safeguarding training (provided by Teaching Personnel) What We Offer Competitive daily rates.Flexible working through our agency.Ongoing professional development and support.Opportunity to make a genuine impact in a specialist setting.
