We’re working with a specialist school in the Gateshead area that’s looking for a calm, caring 1:1 Support Assistant to join their brilliant team.This school supports pupils with a range of additional needs and they’re after someone who brings patience, positivity, and a steady presence. If you enjoy building trust and helping learners feel safe and confident, you’ll fit right in.What you’ll be doing Offering dedicated 1:1 support to a pupil with SEND, helping them access learning and feel settled. Working closely with teachers and therapists to follow routines, strategies, and personalised plans. Supporting emotional regulation, communication, and engagement throughout the school day. Creating a supportive space where the learner can make progress at their own pace. What the school is looking for Experience with SEND, whether in schools, care, youth work, or personal settings. Someone with a calm, encouraging approach who doesn’t mind the occasional curveball. Strong communication and a willingness to learn from the team around you.
