SEN Teaching Assistant – Part Time
Location: Lancaster (LA4 & LA2) Start Date: January 2026 Competitive Pay: £13.75 – £14.50 per hourReady to make a real impact in a child’s life? Teaching Personnel is working with a small, welcoming Ofsted-rated “GOOD” primary school in Lancaster that is seeking a passionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity to support pupils with Autism, ADHD, and other Special Educational Needs, providing tailored learning and 1:1 support where needed.This part-time role starts in January 2026, with the potential to become full-time for the right candidate.
Your Role & Responsibilities:
Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SENAssist with the implementation of EHCPs and IEPsUse PECS and other communication strategies for children with speech and language difficultiesAdapt learning materials to meet individual needsWork closely with teachers to create an inclusive, nurturing environmentSupport classroom management and behaviour strategies when required
What We’re Looking For:
Previous experience supporting children with Autism, ADHD, and other SENKnowledge of EHCPs and IEPs (preferred)Ability to adapt teaching styles for diverse needsBased locally in Lancaster or able to commuteA proactive, compassionate, and dedicated approachRelevant qualifications are desirable but not essential

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
