Qualified Teacher of English - Maternity Cover Chadderton | February 2026 - Christmas 2026 £130 - £180 per day (DOE) Full-Time A secondary school in Chadderton is seeking a committed and enthusiastic Teacher of English to cover a maternity leave from February 2026 through to Christmas 2026. This is a valuable opportunity to join a supportive English department and play a key role in pupils' progress throughout the year. The Role Teach English across Key Stages 3 and 4 Plan, deliver, and assess high-quality lessons in line with curriculum expectations Maintain an engaging and inclusive classroom environment Contribute to departmental planning and wider school initiatives Uphold strong behaviour, safeguarding, and pastoral standards Work collaboratively with the established English team to ensure continuity during the maternity period Requirements Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) Experience delivering English at secondary level Strong subject knowledge across English language and literature Effective behaviour management and a positive approach to supporting pupil progress Ability to build strong relationships with pupils and colleagues Willingness to complete all safeguarding and compliance checks prior to starting Why Work with Simply Education?
