About the company and the project:An international company, a leader in developing large-scale energy storage and grid-stability technologies, is in search of a highly skilled and experienced Senior Software Developer to be a part of its core team.The company has been operating since 2006 and is currently expanding its portfolio of commercial power plants. The successful candidate will contribute to the fastest-growing direction, integrating advanced software with physical energy infrastructure.The company has offices in London, Dubai, and India.This is a fully remote position, allowing you to work from anywhere in the world and manage your own schedule.Your tasks on the position:Designing and implementing automated trading systems for UK energy marketsBuilding real-time bidding, dispatch optimization, and pricing algorithms for LAES assetsDeveloping monitoring dashboards, alerting systems, and operational analytics for plant performanceBuilding monitoring dashboards for LAES and stability island operationsCreating high-throughput data ingestion and streaming pipelines using Kafka and PostgreSQL / TimescaleDBWorking with data pipelines using Kafka and PostgreSQLBuilding microservices and APIs for trading platforms, market integration, and system controlDeveloping microservices connecting trading platforms and grid operatorsRequirements5+ years of software development experienceProficiency in Python (or readiness to ramp up quickly within ~3 weeks)Experience with distributed systems, microservices, and RESTful APIsSolid understanding of software design patterns and testing practicesHands-on experience with Kafka or similar streaming platformsStrong SQL skills with PostgreSQL and time-series data processingProficiency in Git and Agile development workflowsEnglish B2+Will be an advantage:Rust experienceExposure to energy markets, trading systems, or optimization algorithmsInterest in industrial control systems, IoT, or real-world operational dataBenefitsCompetitive salary according to your experience and skillsPaid vacationPlenty of opportunities for learning and professional growthStarting next year, everyone will be issued Macs with tracking softwareB2b contract or official employment for the candidates based in the United Kingdom
