Our client, a leading multi-strategy hedge fund, is seeking a talented Commodities Risk Tech Engineer to design and deliver cutting-edge technology solutions for its commodities trading and risk management platform. The ideal candidate is a hands-on engineer with deep expertise in Python and SQL, strong experience in AWS-based architectures, and a proven track record of delivering robust, scalable solutions in fast-paced environments. Someone who thrives on solving complex problems, automating workflows, and ensuring systems are reliable and efficient. Key Responsibilities Collaborate with risk management and portfolio teams to translate business requirements into innovative technology solutions. Design, develop, and support tools and systems for pricing, risk analytics, data flow, storage, and visualisation. Work closely with developers, DevOps, and technology leaders to align initiatives with business objectives. Build and optimise distributed systems architecture for performance and scalability. Requirements 6+ years of experience in full-stack software development. Strong proficiency in Python and SQL, with experience in object-oriented design and distributed systems. Expertise in AWS architecture (S3, EKS, EC2, Batch, Airflow). Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines (Git, Jenkins) and deploying code into production environments. Familiarity with relational databases (MySQL, RedShift, Oracle, Postgres). Experience with data analysis libraries (Pandas, NumPy, SciPy). Exposure to caching/messaging technologies (Redis, Kafka, MQ).
