We have a great opportunity available to join Novus, our prison education provider at HMP Hull, working as a functional skills English & Maths teacher. This role is offered on a permanent full-time basis, working 37 hours per week. Who are Novus? Site Information HMP Hull is a Category B men's local prison located in Kingston upon Hull in England. HMP Hull accommodates prisoners on remand to the local courts. The prison is operated by His Majesty's Prison Service. The prisons aim is to create an environment in which staff and prisoners feel safe. The prison's mission is to provide a secure, safe, and rehabilitative environment that encourages positive change and prepares inmates for a successful reintegration into society. Skills, Qualifications and Experience To be successful in this role, you will need to: Teaching qualification and where applicable, relevant subject specialist qualification - with a commitment to obtain the outstanding qualification within 12 months Level 2 qualification in Literacy and Numeracy Minimum L5 teaching qualification Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)/ Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (QTLS) or commit to work towards within a specified timeframe (Applies to Teachers in YOI only) Creating stimulating, vibrant environments which are conducive to learning and motivational for learners Achievement of quality targets Producing accurate and timely reports Benefits 40 days annual leave plus 8 bank holidays Significant Pension contributions (Teachers' Pension) Retail Discounts Employee Assistance Program Cycle to work scheme Safeguarding The LTE Group is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
