Financial ControllerSalary: Up to £70,000 DOE Location: Newton-Le-Willows WA12 Job Type: Monday to Friday , 9am-5pm.Are you a technically strong, highly organised finance professional who thrives on accuracy and control? We’re looking for a Financial Controller to take ownership of financial control, compliance, and reporting across our growing Group. This is a hands-on role for someone who prides themselves on discipline and precision, ensuring the numbers are always right.You’ll lead on treasury, audit, statutory reporting, and balance sheet integrity from day one — bringing a meticulous approach to reconciliations, controls, and cash visibility. You’ll also work closely with senior stakeholders, external auditors, and banks, delivering accurate, timely results under pressure while helping improve processes and strengthen controls. What You’ll Do: Own the external audit process and act as primary contact for auditorsTake responsibility for treasury, bank access control, and cash visibilityEnsure accurate and timely HMRC submissions (VAT, PAYE, CT)Manage ONS/statutory returns and compliance deadlinesMaintain balance sheet integrity with strong reconciliationsMaintain and develop the fixed asset registerSupport month-end with key reconciliations and data accuracyImprove financial processes, controls, and reporting qualityProvide clear financial insights to the Finance DirectorTrack acquisition-related costs and goodwillAct as a role model for financial discipline and professionalism What We’re Looking For: ACA / ACCA / CIMA qualifiedStrong understanding of UK GAAP / FRS 102Proven experience leading external auditsHands-on treasury and cash management experienceSolid understanding of HMRC submissions (VAT, PAYE, CT)Advanced Excel and strong ERP/accounting system skillsExcellent organisational skills and attention to detailConfident communicator with strong stakeholder managementProcess-driven, proactive, and able to challenge the status quoThrives in a fast-paced, service-led environment Why Join Us?
