We’re looking for an enthusiastic Cover Supervisor to join a vibrant secondary school in Tower Hamlets.This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working with young people and is confident leading classes in the absence of a teacher. You’ll be delivering pre-prepared lessons, maintaining a positive learning environment, and helping students stay engaged and focused.Whether you’re an experienced cover supervisor, a graduate considering a career in teaching, or someone with strong classroom or youth work experience, we’d love to hear from you!What you’ll be doing You’ll be the steady pair of hands who keeps learning moving. Your day might include: Delivering pre-planned lessons across a mix of subjects Supervising classes, keeping students focused and engaged Managing behaviour in line with the school’s policies Supporting pupils with their learning and making sure everyone feels included Helping departments with small tasks in between classes Being a positive role model around the school No planning, no marking – just keeping the classroom running smoothly. What secondary schools are looking for Every school is different, but they’re generally after someone who: Is confident managing a classroom Can build quick rapport with students, even the lively ones Stays calm under pressure and keeps things fair and consistent Communicates clearly with staff and pupils Is happy moving between different subjects and year groups Has experience working with young people, tutoring, coaching or youth work (ideal but not essential) If you’ve worked in a school before, great.
