Survey Solutions is a leading engineering surveyor specialising in land, measured building and underground utility surveys as well as monitoring and site engineering schemes. We are looking to appoint a Surveyor within the land department in our Thames Valley office. We have a network of ten offices with our teams of surveyors and engineers working on some of the UK’s major construction and infrastructure developments. As a Surveyor at Survey Solutions, you will work independently completing a full range of small to large scale topographical, measured building and setting out surveys, using innovative technology and processing data in the office to a high working standard. You will be confident working on multi-disciplined survey projects and will have a competent understanding of various surveying methods and data capture.You will also share your expertise and knowledge with less experienced team members to assist their development, by providing practical experience onsite and office-based work.This is a full-time role with office hours of Monday to Friday from 9.00 – 5.30, however site hours will vary so overtime and occasional weekend working will be required.You will be working on exciting survey projects in Hampshire, West London and the surrounding counties. The ideal candidate will be based in or around the Reading, Basingstoke, Guildford and/or Woking area.ResponsibilitiesAs a Land & Measured Building Surveyor, you will:Complete topographical surveys and measured building surveys, of various scale and complexity, independently to a high standardWork on large and complex surveying projects with team members of various technical ability and experience, to complete the project to a high standardProvide guidance and direction to team members on large and complex survey projectsWork effectively on projects with trainee, junior and survey technician level staff, assisting with their development by providing practical experience onsiteProcess multi data sets from various instrumentation to a high working standard, including topographical and measured building dataDemonstrate competent knowledge of traversing and GPS control networksUndertake initial site inspections and complete dynamic risk assessments when attending survey sites, reporting any safety issues to the wider surveying team or to managementRequirementsThe Person: Previous experience working in the surveying industry (2-3+ years).
